Poached Breakfast Cafe
Not technically snorkelling in Phuket, Poached Breakfast Cafe is still somewhere you can dive deep into our delicious food on our Aussie-inspired menu. That was a good one! Right?
What’s even the point in adventuring miles out at sea if you haven’t filled your stomach up with some scrumptious brekkie food? You’ll just be thinking about eating all day, and remember, fish are friends, not food (That’s one for the Finding Nemo fans). You can thank us later for letting you know about our wonderful cafe; it goes perfectly with an afternoon of snorkelling.

We’re located in prime position, just a few minutes from Chalong Bay; this is where your boat will leave to take you to some of the most magical spots out at sea to snorkel. If you aren’t leaving the island, then we’re also positioned centrally to some great beaches where you can also enjoy the marine life. We are one of the most cosy places around, our Nordic-style decor, comfy seating and snug booths are just some of the reasons we’re so popular.
Our mouth-watering dishes steal the show though. A ten out of ten meal, paired with some unbelievable underwater memories and new fishy friends; it’s the most awesome combination for the best day ever! Speaking of unbelievable combos, you need to get stuck into our ‘Breakfast Burrito’. It’s loaded with all the best brekkie flavours and every bite is an explosion of yumminess. We fill it to the brim with meaty spicy house sausage, fluffy smoked scrambled eggs, melty Monterey Jack cheese and a zingy fresh avocado-tomato salsa. Lush, ey?

We even give the classic dishes a special twist; we take them to a new level. An egg and bacon roll is undoubtedly amazing, but might sound a little generic, especially to somebody in adventure mode in Thailand, that’s why we add a special, yummy twist. Our fluffy bread roll is filled with flawlessly cooked fried eggs, a generous serving of crispy bacon, sweet and rich caramelised onion, sharp, buttery cheddar cheese and tomato bush relish. Absolutely amazing!
You might think that’s a treat, but wait until you hear about our ‘Brioche French Toast’. The toast is light on the inside and crisp on the outside, dusted in icing sugar and cinnamon. It’s also topped with sliced bananas and strawberries, a massive scoop of thick, rich vanilla ice cream and drizzled in maple syrup. Go all in and for a morning sugar rush, there’s no other way to do it!

On the other end of the spectrum, we also serve up some of the most scrummy salads on the island. We’ve got your classics such as Greek, smoked salmon and Caesar salads. We’ve also got some different options that’ll make your taste buds tingle. The ‘Chicken Cobb’ salad is out of this world. The poached chicken breast falls apart in your mouth, it’s mixed with smokey bacon, sharp blue cheese, egg and ranch dressing.
See… we really do have something for everyone. Our menu is full of options that’ll take your day to a new level. Just make sure if you go snorkelling afterwards that you don’t eat too much because you might just sink!
Similan Islands
Snorkelling in Phuket doesn’t get any better. Although it’s not technically in Phuket, the Similan Islands are only a couple of hours on a boat from the west coast. It’s labelled as one of the most stunning places in Thailand. The islands are untouched and the marine life is extremely rich. The waters are more blue than you could imagine and the white powdery sand is what dreams are made of. The trip to and from Phuket can be quite tiring, but that’s why it’s so important you get a huge breakfast at Poached Breakfast Cafe first!
Merlin Beach
Merlin Beach is hidden behind a resort and is pretty unknown amongst people in Phuket. Near the increasingly popular Freedom Beach, it’s also got lush white sand and is full of palm trees but it has much fewer people. There’s a tonne of coral close to shore too so it’s great for all ages. Just make sure you wear protective shoes because you don’t want tout your feet! It’s one of the top places to go snorkelling in Phuket.
Koh Khai Nok
Koh Khao Nok is a tiny little island in the middle of the ocean 15 minutes out from the pier at Chalong. There are small dunes connecting the rock on each side of the island. The water is clear and full of colourful fish, it’s not busy at all and there’s a beach to chill out on. It’s clear why this is one of the best locations for snorkelling in Phuket
