Nai Harn Beach
Nai Harn Beach is one for the more experienced surfers. It’s rip-central, but the waves are sick! On the right day, they’re huge. Another reason this makes our list of ultimate surf locations in Phuket is that it never gets very busy. You have all the space in the world! There are some cool beach bars to grab a vibey drink too.
Kata Beach
Kata Beach is one of the most popular surf locations in Phuket. The beach is huge so it’s rarely too crowded. The waves here aren’t as strong as Nai Harn, but they reach some really good heights. The beach has such a chilled vibe too, and the sun sets over the horizon of the ocean. Is there anything better than surfing as the sun goes down and the skies turn orange?
Bang Tao Beach
Bang Tao Beach is easily one of the best surf locations in Phuket. The shallow waters are great for learning and the waves are big enough for the pros too. There are a few great surf shops on the beach in case you want some lessons or to rent out a board for cheap. The beach is extremely long which means a tonne of space for you to rip some moves.
Natai Beach
Natai Beach is about an hour north of the island, however, it must make it to our list of surf locations in Phuket because of how amazing it is. If you have some mode of transport that carries your board, then this might just be the place to come. It’s a dreamy beach, white sands, under the canopy of the trees that runs for miles and miles. You’ll be lucky to see more than 10 people on the beach, it’s away from all the tourists. As it’s on the west coast of Thailand with no islands in front of it, it has great waves in surf season.
